

Ferdie was born in Quebec, Canada, and moved to Danbury as an infant. He graduated from Danbury High School in 1943 and later served in the United States Navy, stationed in the Philippines during WWII. After his military service, he returned home and graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1950.
Ferdie is remembered for his kind and good-natured spirit that endeared him to everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Many area residents remember Ferdie after his 55-year successful career as an automobile salesperson at Fair Cadillac in Danbury and Park Cadillac in New Milford. For decades, he earned numerous national awards as a top salesman.
For 62 years, Ferdie lived on Candlewood Lake, where he and his late wife, Dolores, loved entertaining. Also, he enjoyed swimming, boating, and many friends and family members have fond memories of Ferdie teaching them to waterski with great patience.
He is survived by his children: Peter Toussaint, Kathy (Alan) Dudley, and Mark (Jennifer) Toussaint and his six grandchildren who affectionately called him Pop: Nicole Toussaint, Michelle Toussaint, Connor Dudley, Kara Dudley, Benjamin Toussaint, and Gil Toussaint.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Sacred Heart Church, Cottage St, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Those attending are requested to wear masks.
There are no calling hours.
