

Harry was born in Valllepietra, Italy near Rome the son of the late Anthony -Damici and Iolanda Damici and immigrated to Massachusetts in his youth.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen (Harty) Damici as well as his daughter Doreen Dumas and her husband, Robert Dumas. Harry will be sorely missed by his grandchildren Denise Kelly and Michele Dumas and his Dumas step grand-children, Robert, Jason and Allyson as well as step great-granddaughter Kayle, all of whom shared devoted and happy moments with him through his final days, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his caregiver Allison France who for four years provided him with gentle and loving care. He will be very sadly missed.
He was predeceased by brothers Carl and Mario Damici and sisters Loretta, Yolanda Damici and Anita Melissari.
Returning to Danbury after World War II, Harry spent a lifetime as a carpenter by trade, providing home and hearth as the decades passed, initially working for many years at Taylor Made Homes followed by two decades as general maintenance supervisor for St. Joseph’s Church and school on Main St. Danbury.
In all he did, Harry stood for traditional American values of self reliance, fair dealing and quiet pride in his work. Harry had a passion for helping family and others and hard work which is what kept him going for so long. His family was always most important in his life.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8PM, Monday, June 13th, at The Green Funeral Home; 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Tuesday 10:00 am. Interment will be at St. Peter Cemetery.
