
James C. Masterson (Jim), 56, of Danbury, CT formerly of Sherman, CT died on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Regional Hospice and Home Care, Danbury, CT. Jim was born in Danbury on March 22, 1960 to Sheila C. Balfour and Frank J. Masterson.
He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School in 1978. He travelled the world for his career as an engineer in the semi-conductor industry and enjoyed the many cultures and people he met along the way.
While living in Connecticut Jim was involved in local theater which included the Sherman Playhouse, Theatre Works in New Milford and Musicals at Richter, Danbury, CT.
Survived by his son, James David Franco Masterson, Sara, Iloilo, Philippines, his wife Melgie Franco siblings Sheila Masterson, New Haven, CT, Ian (Jennifer) Masterson, Noblesville, IN, Helen (Brad) Bechard, Danbury, CT. His former wife Carmela Castro, New Gloucester, ME . His nieces Kate Masterson and Amy (Drew) Lurker, great-niece, Nora Grace of Indianapolis, IN, his “brother” Frank Russo, Roxbury, CT and several cousins in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
The family wishes to thank Linda Pinckney and the staff of Regional Hospice and Home Care who’s entire staff exemplify compassion and care for the patients and their families, as well as the staff of Danbury Hospital, especially Dr. Reed Idriss and the staff of the Emergency room, and the Praxair Cancer Center, for the kind care given to Jim during his brief illness.
Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. To celebrate Jim’s life listen to a Glen Miller Big Band CD and dance like no one is watching. Contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to Regional Hospice and Home Care at 30 Milestone Rd. Danbury, CT 06810.
