Joan F. Cappellano

Joan (Healey) Cappellano 84 of Danbury passed away at Bethel Healthcare, on July 9, 2017. She was the wife of the late Pasquale (Pat) Cappellano. She was born on January 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Dupey) Healey.

Joan attended Danbury schools and was a graduate of Danbury High School Class of 1950. She was a secretary for the local businesses, retiring in 1997 from Western Connecticut State University after 20 years of service.

Joan is survived by two daughters, Mary Machado of Cheshire, CT. Teresa Atkinson and her husband Mark of New Milford, CT, four grandchildren, Andrew and Jana Atkinson and Jenny Saucier and Rebecca Machado, two great grandchildren, Shane and Brooke; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Patrick Cappellano and her sister, Elizabeth Haitsch.

Family and friends are encouraged to call to the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street Danbury, CT for visitation on Friday July 14, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00am, a Memorial service will take place immediately following at 1100 am. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery Danbury, CT.
