Joaquim was born November 13, 1945 in Vila Franca Da Serra, Portugal. He emigrated with his family to the United States in 1977. At the time of his retirement, Joaquim was employed as a custodian with Danbury Public Schools.
Joaquim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maria Jose, his daughters: Maria Baker and her husband Joseph and Ana Wight and her husband Michael, his grandchildren: Matthew Baker, Daniel Baker, and Emily Wight, his siblings Jose Lopes, Antonio Rodrigues, and Alipio Lopes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Wednesday May 28th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 149 Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury. Burial will follow in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street Danbury on Tuesday May 27th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
