
John “Jack” F. Daniels passed away on Friday, July 20th, at Glen Hill, where he resided for the past several years. Born in Ocala, FL on Jan. 15, 1923, he was the son of the late John Daniels of Ocala, FL and the late Helen Wells of Wilmington, NC.
Jack was a WW II veteran serving on a PT boat with the US Navy and then with the National Guard and the US Air Force. A member of Teamsters Local 677, Jack worked for several area construction firms including Defonce, E. Paul Kovacs, Iapaluccio as well as the City of Danbury. Jack loved stock car races, westerns, going to visit his mom in North Carolina and going to Disney with the kids.
He is survived by his daughters: Linda Daniels of Rhode Island, Kim Daniels of Massachusetts, Debra Jakowiec and her husband, Caz, of New Bedford, MA, and Jennifer Wendel and her husband, Bill, of Southbury. One son: John Daniels and his wife, Melissa, of New Milford. Seven grandchildren: Erin Chausse, Shauna Makuch, Elizabeth Saul, Maiya and Jack Wendel, and Taylor and Johssa Daniels. Four great grandchildren: Michael, Cameron, Emma and Jocelyn. He is also survived by his former wife, Gail, who he remained good friends with throughout his life and will miss him very much. Jack was predeceased by his first wife, Irene.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Glen Hill for their kindness and care during Jack’s stay there. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday at 7pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. Interment will be at the National Veteran’s Cemetery at Bourne, MA at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
