John was born in Youngstown, OH, son of the late Stanley and Bertha Puskarczyk. He attended school in Ohio and later moved to Danbury where he had worked for many years for the former McLachlan Hat Company, Danbury Drive-in Theatre and Castro Convertibles. He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and Holy Name Society.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Sandra Zdanowski, four grandchildren: Timothy and Matthew Lorkiewicz and Jeffrey and Kathy Zdanowski, as well as his great granddaughter Kasey Alaimo. He was predeceased by his sons Donald and John Jr.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury, on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
