After graduating from Western Connecticut State Teachers College, he served in the US Army. He then worked for decades as director of curriculum and assistant superintendent of Ridgefield Public Schools. Joe was beloved by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Sandra; his brother, Richard; his sister, Helen. His three children: Vivienne, David, and Cara. One grandson also survives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Ridgefield. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
