Lawrence Joseph Penna

He is also survived by his children, Marc and his wife, Sarah Penna, of Shrewsbury, MA; David and his wife, Melinda Penna,;Anthony and his wife, Jodi Penna; Nicholas Penna; Joseph Penna and Lawrence and his wife, Michaela Penna, all of New Fairfield. His mother, Lucille Penna of Palm Harbor, FL. His sister: Carol Turoczi of Newtown. Five grandchildren: Jack, Ella, Aidan, Carter, and Lilah. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Anthony A. Penna; his brother, Kenneth Penna and his brother-in-law, Duane Turoczi.

Larry was born in Danbury, CT on July 13, 1953 to Anthony and Lucille (Curti) Penna. He graduated from Danbury High School in 1971 and went on to start his own swimming pool company, The Pool Doctor, in 1975. On April 6, 1973 he married his wife of 41 years, Erika Penna. Over this time, Larry and Erika raised six sons.

Larry lived his life to the fullest. He was passionate about flying small private aircraft, gardening, wine making, restoring antique cars, and his first love, playing the guitar. He was most happy when his entire family were together for holidays and celebrations. He owned The Pool Doctor for 39 years. Larry took an active role in the New England Spa and Pool Association (NESPA) and led the efforts to standardize licensing in CT within the swimming pool industry.

Larry was a devoted Christian and was passionate about his love for the Lord and is now at peace. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
