As a teenager, Lloyd moved to California to live with his oldest brother after the sudden passing of his mother. His time in California was short as he became more interested in the "Big City" of New York. So, he convinced his older sister, Ema to allow him to live there. He promised to attend college while maintaining a reliable job.
He thrived in the city and enjoyed the lights and fast pace of the new environment. Lloyd found school to be too boring until many years later but became a master of many trades. He kept his promise to find reliable work as a young mechanic at local car shops and handyman for his older brother’s electronics repair shop. It is during these years that he met his first wife, Verona Fisher. Of that union three daughters were born, Chisa, Zellese, and Sitka. Many years later, Lloyd met his second wife, Elizabeth and moved to Connecticut with their two daughters, Mende and Sekayi.
Lloyd’s ability to fix and build anything with his bare hands resulted in his thirty-five year career at Metro North Railroad. He was acknowledged as being one of their top mechanics until he retired in 2012. Lloyd loved to participate as a volunteer at the schools his daughter’s attended in Danbury. He enjoyed driving into NYC so as to keep connected to family and friends. When driving, he listened to Beres Hammond, and JayZ. He was a very reliable landlord, uncertified interior designer, stylist with a passion for fashion. Lloyd was dedicated to his family and friends.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Elizabeth, along with children Chisa, Zellese, Monique, Johnnie, Antoine, Mende as well as Sekayi. His grandchildren are Chinese, Ashley, Fabian, Skylar, Meiya, Zamya, Ty’Aye, Taji, Aydin, and Amira. Great grandson, Michael. Also, Dolores (sister) and only remaining sibling as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members
A visitation for Lloyd will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Green Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
