Maria da Ascensao da Silva Figueiredo

She passed away peacefully on May, 21st, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May, 1st, 1935, in Cativelos, Gouveia Portugal. She was the daughter of the late Antonio Nunes Da Silva and the late Libania De Figueiredo. She immigrated to the United States in 1989.

Maria was preceded in death by her brother Jose Figueiredo (Maria) and Vitorino Da Silva (Helena). Surviving are her sister Ilda Figueiredo (Manuel) and brother Angelino Figueiredo (Marina).

She was the wife of the late Manuel Bento.

Survivors: Maria De Lurdes Da Silva Bento, Jorge Manuel Da Silva Bento (Elsa) Sofia Bento Santo (Antonio), Sonia Bento Pires (Jose Mario) Her grandchildren: Liliana Baptista, Christopher Baptista, David Bento, Andre Bento, Jonathan Pires, Andrew Pires, Marco Caramelo and Nicholas Santo.

What she enjoyed the most was to have her grandkids visit her, and go back to her home country, Portugal for her summer vacations.

Friends and family will be received from 9:00am-10:30am on Wednesday, May 27th at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.

A mass will follow at 11:00am, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at 149 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury.

The burial will take place in her hometown, Cativelos, Gouveia, Portugal.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, CT Chapter, 10 Executive Dr., Suite 202, Farmington, CT 06032.
