Maro was born in Gloversville, New York to the late Serafina and Antonio Ambrosecchio, and was one of seven children. He is survived by his brother, Michael, ten nieces and nephews, and his partner Florence Modzelewski of 20 years. He was preceded in death by his four brothers and one sister.
Mario served in the Air Force during the Korean War as a jet fighter aircraft mechanic. He was a self taught accomplished artist after his retirement from General Motors. Many of his watercolor and oil paintings were exhibited at the Bridgewater and Bethlehem Fairs. He was the winner of many ribbons and awards.
Mario gave most of his paintings either as gifts or in many cases the old fashioned barter system. Upon his death, only four of his paintings remained in his house. He was a very generous person, especially to his extended family’s grandchild, Daria Modzelewski, whom he loved dearly. Anyone who knew Mario will miss his sense of humor and his beautiful smile. To know him was to love him.
