Michael J. Maguire

Michael J. Maguire, a longtime resident of New Fairfield passed away on Dec. 6, 2013. Mike was born in The Bronx, the son of the late Patrick and Johanna Maguire. He is survived by his beloved daughter Patricia Maguire and her husband Jeff of NC, his brother Patrick and wife Mary of New Milford; nephews Patrick and wife Heather, Brendan, and nieces Colleen and Erin Maguire; great-niece and nephew Ashley and Patrick Maguire, who he adored.

Mike had a great sense of humor. He celebrated his Irish heritage and was proud to be an American. He will be missed by family and friends, his beloved cat Cashes, and his buddies at Gil’s and The Grille. He was an avid fan of the JETS and the METS.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at 11am in St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. The Family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT from 9:15-10:15 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memoriam to: New Fairfield/ Sherman Animal Welfare Society, 223 Rte 37, New Fairfield, CT 06812; New Fairfield VFD, 302 Ball Pond Road, New Fairfield, CT 06712; or Water Witch Hose #2, 8 Prospect Hill Rd, New Milford, CT 06776.
