Miriam E. Bergenson

Miriam E. Bergenson , born on June 20, 1935, to John and Miriam Kett in Jackson Heights, New York, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2017 at St. John Paul II Nursing Home with her family by her side. Miriam enjoyed sewing, cooking and most importantly raising her children. Miriam took pride as a troop leader for the Yonkers, New York Girl Scouts. Miram also enjoyed teaching a sewing class weekly in Getty Square in Yonkers. Miriam was an active member in the Danbury, CT Emmaus community.

Miriam was predeceased by, her parents, her sister Rita Hamel and her nephew John Kett Jr. Miriam is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Captain Frederick W. Bergenson Sr., her daughter Kathleen Buckley and her husband Wayne, her son Rick Bergenson and his wife Alyssa, her daughter Deslyn Martirano and her husband Anthony and her daughter Kristen Heyel and her husband Jeremy. Miriam also leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Erika, Lindsey, Kelsey, Michael and Joshua along with her great-grandchild Ricky Jude. Miriam also leaves behind her siblings, John Kett and Joan Ogden.

Family and friends are encouraged to call to the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT, for visitation on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on June 2, 2017 at St. Peter Church in Danbury, CT at 10:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
