Born on March 31, 1920 to Maria Teresa Martine and Pasquale Esposito in Hazleton, PA, Pat was one of nine children. He was a proud member of the high school marching band and played trombone in so many parades that (he would joke) his shoes wore out from all that walking.
Pat served as a signalman in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later settled in Danbury, CT to raise his growing family with his beautiful wife, Josephine. Together, they had five children: Ronald (deceased), Gerald, Arnold, Joyce (Rener) and Patrick.
When Pat wasn’t working diligently at Republic Foil, nurturing his tomato garden or making his delicious sausage and peppers, he was quick to crack a corny joke and often enjoyed creative writing. Pat’s original poem, “The Search for Santa,” made each Christmas more special.
A devout Catholic, Pat could be found in front of televised mass at least once a week, every week. He was quick to forgive, loved animals, had a huge, genuine smile and cared deeply for his beloved wife Josephine. He will be deeply missed by his children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and family and friends in “Pennsy.”
Funeral service will be held at Saint Joseph Church in Danbury on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 10am. A family burial, with military honors, will follow at Saint Peter Cemetery. Flower arrangements may be sent to Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810 prior to October 24th.
