He was born April 2, 1940 in Bronx, NY, the son of Roland and Juliette (St. George) Cote. Roger was a graduate of the DeWitt Clinton High School, Bronx, NY and attended New York City Community College earning a degree in engineering. He served in the New York National Guard and was married to Ruth Norton on November 6, 1993. An electrical engineer, Roger worked for New York City Health & Hospitals, followed by employment with Rose, Beaton & Rose, EYP and Joseph Loring Associates. He was a long time member of St, James Episcopal Church in Danbury while serving on the vestry. Roger volunteered for 30 years at the Dorothy Day Shelter prior to relocating to Maine.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Ruth Cote of Easton, ME; two sons, Joseph Cote and his wife Sunok, Laurence Cote Sr., all of Danbury, CT; one daughter, Jillian Cote of Mars Hill, ME, originally of Danbury; one sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Walter Jahns of Winter Springs, FL; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Jonathan and Theodore Cote, all of Danbury, CT, Cheryl Cote of New Haven, CT, Laurence Jr. and Dylan Cote, both of Danbury, CT, Jamie MacKay of Easton, ME; one niece, Erika Budke; two great nephews, Jordan and Justin Budke.
