With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Susan Navarro Rivera Martinez, who gently joined our creator on April 2, 2026, in Danbury, CT at the age of 68, surrounded by love, and carried into peace.
A woman of great faith and a gentle heart, she made others feel seen, gave generously, loved deeply, brought comfort and laughs. Her presence was a gift—steady, warm, and safe—and her love was something you could feel without words.
Born and raised in Cabanatuan City, Philippines to Teresita Rivera and Miguel Rivera on May 28, 1957, Susan was a true affectious spirit. She had a gift for making everyone laugh and feel welcome and loved, and she touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Some of her happiest moments were spending time with family, playing games with her parents, cooking food and giving fun nicknames to her loved ones.
Above all, she was a devoted mother, and her love for her children was unconditional and unwavering. She leaves behind her children, Jo-Anne, Paulo, Jessica, Julio Jr, and Abigail; her grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Gia and Gael; her sisters, Cynthia and Annabelle; her parents Miguel and Teresita; her son-in-law Emack and daughter-in-law Perlyn, and a wide circle of family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her kindness. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
We will miss her in the smallest, most unexpected moments, in the prayers she led during family gatherings, in the quiet, in the laughter, in the spaces she once filled so effortlessly. And though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love continues to guide us.
Forever loved, forever missed, forever in our hearts. We love you mom.
A celebration of her remarkable life will be held at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury CT on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 2PM - 4PM with a prayer service and family reflections at 3:30 PM.
