Virginia “Ginny” Gillotti, 82 years old, of New Fairfield, CT passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday evening, November 4, 2019. She was the loving wife of 57 years to Michael J. Gillotti, Jr.
Ginny was born in Norwalk, CT daughter of the late Mary and Livingston Morehouse. She was predeceased by her brothers Sherman and John Morehouse. Ginny graduated from Staples High School in 1955 and went on to graduate from Central Connecticut College with a BA in Education in 1959.
Ginny was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and teacher. She taught in the Ridgefield Public School district and at Pooh’s Corner Nursery School in Danbury.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons: Michael and daughter in law,Elizabeth,; David and daughter in law, Isabel; Patrick and daughter in law, Coleen. She is also survived by her grandchildren who she loved with all her heart: Michael Ryan and his fiancé, Sami; Joshua and his girlfriend, Sara; Emily; Brendan; Molly Rose; Kevin; Jillian; Jordan; and her great grandson: Mason. Ginny is also survived by her sister-in-law, Trudy Morehouse; niece, Kim (Cary) Staib,; nephew, Justin Morehouse; Aunt Virginia Stednitz and many relatives in Pennsylvania.
Ginny was a member of the St. Edwards Ladies Guild, Mom’s Morning Out, and the Funeral Hospitality Committee. She also volunteered for the New Fairfield Town Clerks Office as a checker at the polls during many local and national elections.
The Gillotti Family would like to thank JoAnne Librie of Regional Hospice and all the other dedicated workers from Brightstar for all their help and caring of Ginny during this past year.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 at St. Edward the Confessor’s Church, in New Fairfield. Burial will take place immediately following the Mass at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury, CT.
The family will receive friends from 4pm-7pm on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ginny’s memory to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT.
