I am so sorry to hear of Anne's passing . I just came across this obit a year late. I would appreciate any updates or a call anytime from Noel, or other friends to share if there has been a celebration of life.

Sharing our newest family member with Anne ❤️

I will always remember Anne for her quick smile and inquisitive nature. I had the pleasure of getting to know her as both a neighbor and a patron of a barbershop I worked in, while I was studying at art school. We had many conversations in that barber chair, a very considerate and kind soul, she eventually trusted me with repairing her wedding band, though I was still a nervous and fairly inexperienced art student. 

We traveled together to Parsboro, NS to source a beautiful alaxanderite stone at a gem and mineral show. It was the first time I had adjusted someone else's ring and even worked in gold - but that was her way, always looking to invest in someone else. I know she had sought out a student to create original ring many years before. I laugh now thinking of how I had her sign a waiver for the special stone, I was so nervous I would muck it up and not be able to pay her back. What a sweet woman, she graciously signed the paper, putting the poor student on a budget, at ease. The ring came out just fine thankfully, and my confidence grew. 

I kept up correspondence with her after our move to Vancouver 7 years ago, often in response to her encouraging replies to my business newsletters. But later, we became outright pen pals - after the birth of my first and second daughters. I will dearly miss her correspondence and sweet observations of life. She was a wonderful woman and will be sorely missed. Noel, my thoughts are with you at this time. 

 Just came across Anne's obituary this morning. My mother, aunt and uncle had been close friends of Ann's parents. Anne's dad was best man at my uncle and aunt's wedding. Fast forward to the 60's I attended Sacred Heart Convent six years behind Anne. She always checked up on me, to make sure I was doing okay and enjoying school. She would drop off small gifts for me  to the nun, while I was in the  study hall. Taught me how to draw my first bunny rabbit. My mum and I had vacationed with Mary and Anne in PEI years later with their dog Rex in tow. Noel, attended your beautiful wedding many years ago. I ran into Anne and Mary during one of Mary's hospitalizations at the Halifax Infirmary around the year 2000.
Anne was as beautiful and as wonderful as I remembered her. She truly was my heroine as I small child.  Noel, I am so heart broken for your loss. At the same time, you were both truly blessed to have  such a wonderful relationship you both enjoyed over the years. Take care and please let me know when Anne's celebration office takes place.I would love to be there to pay tribute to her. Mary Jane MacNeil

The world is a less kind place with Anne gone. Her kind, pure authentic interaction is a hard thing to find these days. A soul of the loveliest kind.

Neil,  I removed what I sent before as there was a mix up in where  they placed them.

I met Anne in my first class in 1970. I struck up a conversation which led to a relationship that lasted a year. I never saw Anne again until 1989 when I was walking up Citadel Hill and I ran into her. We shared what was going on in our lives and I told her that  I was about to move to The Islands of The Bahamas for a job in Tourism. She was envious. 

Anne is, as was does not recognize her eternal presence in our lives, all the things people wrote here. I saw all her qualities in that year and remembered them for a life time. 

I wish now we had kept in touch. I retired 10 years ago from a senior executive position in the Bahamas Tourism Industry. I could have arranged a helluva of a second honeymoon for you two. 

But then again it seems from what I read - your life together is one long honeymoon.

I am so very sorry to hear of Anne’s passing. She and I spent many hours in delightful conversation during my time in the lab in Halifax. She was the epitome of kindness and I will miss her dearly.

Dear Noel,

We didn't know Anne very well but we wish we had. We're new to Halifax and we're first time shop keepers. We're pleasantly surprised at how friendly everyone is and we're beginning to feel like we're building a family in our little shop. Anne was definitely a part of that family and we'll miss her.

It was during my university years that I had the lucky fortune of being introduced to Anne and Noel through friends at one of the few student functions I attended.  Typically, such encounters never extend beyond that day.  However, congenial personalities saw the birth of a memorable friendship, complete with multiple 2-day lobster boils on the Northumberland Strait, home gatherings, and a love for dogs (my setter; their pointer(s),   Although the frequency of our encounters waned over time, Anne and I were able to keep in touch via occasional meetings in the hallway of the 5th floor of D-building on the TUNS campus where my office was located down the hall from hers.

Noel, my sincere condolences.  Take care.

Anne was a perfect neighbor.  She always had a smile and friendly hello every time I saw her. She will be dearly missed.

So sad to hear about the passing of Anne, l have many fond memories of our conversations over the years, she will definitely be missed, my prayers and thoughts go out to Noel and the family on behalf of Angela and the Cromwell Family.

Anne was a dedicated and very valuable volunteer to Northwood. She was a thoughtful person who supported many residents during her 7 years volunteering. Volunteer Services, staff, Residents and Tenants will miss her weekly visits to Northwood.
