Auly was born in Sydney Mines, the daughter of Catherine and Jerry MacPhee. She finished her teaching career at George Bissett School retiring in 1998. Auly appreciated the many wonderful students and parents she met throughout her career.
Auly enjoyed the people who enriched her life with their friendship. She felt that when one is so blessed they must find a way to give back to their community. Auly met every challenge with an opportunity to learn a life lesson.
Auly was predeceased by her parents Catherine and Jerry MacPhee, three brothers in infancy, sisters Mary Catherine and Theresa, brothers Billy, Rod and Frank. She is survived by sisters Jean, Vivian and Christina and brother Larry.
Since meeting with health challenges in 1990, Auly appreciated the wonderful health professionals she met in Traditional and Complementary Medicine. This life saving help began with the late Dr. Bruce Elliott and the late Dr. Jerry Ross. Auly felt very blessed to have Dr. Shalini Veerassamy as her primary care physician. It indeed took a team along with Dr. Veerassamy. Thanks are also extended to Dr. S. Hayes, DOMP, Dr. S. Trask, DSHM, as well as Dr. J. Williams who made so many difficult times bearable.
Auly had a lifelong interest in Children's/Youth Mental Health Services and Spousal Abuse. If you would wish to make a donation to these or Hospice Halifax or any other charity, it would be greatly appreciated.
