Age 79 of Eastern Passage, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, surrounded by her family. Carol was the daughter of Maynard and Doris (Glazebrook) Morash. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family.
Carol was born on June 17, 1946, and raised in Eastern Passage. Her first job was at Starr Manufacturing, and she worked in administrative roles at various places before retiring after a lengthy career with DND in Shearwater.
Carol gave generously to various causes in Eastern Passage and elsewhere. She was particularly dedicated to supporting St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Eastern Passage, often with memorials for those family members who passed before her.
She was a generous and supportive aunt and great-aunt, present for every occasion and accomplishment. It was not uncommon for “Lil Sis” to take her nieces or nephews out for a lunch as she enjoyed treating them and having their company.
Carol is survived by her nephews and nieces: Terry Morash (Heather Faulkner), Cathy Negus (Donnie), Colleen Giberson (Perry), Gregg Knudsen (Tanya), Scott Morash and Cindy Morash; grand-nephews and grand-nieces: Alicia (Shawn), Dawn (Dave), Melanie (Peter), Sarah, Blaine, Leanne, Haley and Hannah; great-grand-nephews and great-grand-nieces: Camryn, Donovan, Parker and Evelyn; sisters-in-law: Marie Morash and Mrs. Carol Morash, and brother-in-law, Leith Graham.
In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by sisters, Phyllis Graham and Thelma Knudsen; brothers, Edison Morash and William “Bill” Morash; brother-in-law, Jorgen “John” Knudsen and nephew, Erick Knudsen.
Many thanks to the ICU at Dartmouth General Hospital for the tremendous care Carol received in her final days and to the EHS Paramedics who attended to her. We are grateful to Rev. Jon Hallewell for his friendship, ministry and prayers to Carol, especially in her final months and the support he provided to our family.
While Carol had many of her own favourite charities, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10 from 6-8 pm at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 11 at 11am at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 346 Cow Bay Road, Eastern Passage with a reception to follow downstairs in the church hall. Cremation and a private family burial will be held at a later date.
