
BEST, Carolyn Jean (Wood) - of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at the QEII Health Science Centre in Halifax on Friday, March 31 at the age of 75. Born in Moncton, she later moved to Halifax with her family and went on to graduate from Maritime Secretarial College in Halifax. She worked for NS Department of Community Services for over 35 years, retiring as Chief Clerk. Carolyn was very well known for her love of animals, having rescued and cared for many over the years. She was also a very popular baker with all the neighborhood kids and is still remembered by many of them (all now adults) for her famous double chocolate chip cookies. She is survived by daughter Tracey Best, daughter-in-law Kim Wagner, granddaughter Cailean Fraser, sister Arlene Best and nephew Michael Best (Philip Aulenbach) and several extended family members in New Brunswick. She was predeceased by parents, Anna (Legere) and Ernest Wood. Respecting her final wishes, there will be no service. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lower Sackville at a later date.
