EARLE, Corinne June Williams (Dares) - June 14, 1933 - March 2, 2022. Passed peacefully at Dartmouth General Hospital with family by her side. Born in Dartmouth, daughter of G. Victor Dares and M. Kathleen (Williams). Survived by her sister Barbara, children Mark (Joanne), Michael (Mary Anne), Rachael (Randy Jewers), and David (Dianne), grandchildren Colleen and Martin Earle and Neil and Eric Jewers, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband Rev. John Earle, and brother Ronald. A Graduate of the University of King’s College (BA) and the University of Toronto (B Library Science). She worked at Dalhousie University, NS Provincial Library, and Halifax Library Main Branch. She lived in Westville, Musquodoboit Harbour, Upper Tantallon, Stewiacke, Shelburne, and Bible Hill as John was assigned parishes. In retirement they settled in Dartmouth to be close to family. An excellent cook and seamstress who fearlessly approached any project she decided to take on. She managed the many moves efficiently, even with four small children. Corinne was an accomplished pianist and organist and in her youth she would accompany her brother Ronnie as he played the violin. Later she would play organ at church if required. She played into her 80s for personal enjoyment. At church she was a member of choirs and other groups, always mindful to be a member and not the Minister’s wife. Corinne was an avid reader and gardener. She loved swimming and continued to swim until a few years ago. Corinne and John loved camping and canoeing, especially at Kejimkujik National Park. Those loves were passed on to their children and grandchildren. Cats were a love of Corinne and she always had one. Her cat, Heidi, was with her when Corinne moved to a Parkland apartment. Corinne and her parents were among the first families of the Church of the Holy Spirit. She and John were the first couple to be married in the parish, even before the church was built! They rejoined the parish when they returned to Dartmouth. She was thankful for her family and was proud and supportive of her children and grandchildren in all their pursuits. Like her father, Corinne liked roast beef; like her mother, she enjoyed ice cream. She made an excellent fish chowder and the best lemon meringue pies. Among the charities she supported were PWRDF, Bide Awhile, SPCA, and Holy Spirit Food Bank. She would be happy to know that her memory would be honoured with a donation. Family extends thanks to the staff at Parkland at the Lakes and the Dartmouth General Hospital for their care and kindness. There will be a family committal in Heritage Oak Columbarium. A Memorial Service will be held 2pm Saturday, May 14, in The Church of the Holy Spirit 1 Regency Drive. Rev. Edwin Ebsary officiating.
