

RITCHIE, David Christopher Gaston— 47, Dartmouth, passed away Tuesday, October 13, in Northwood Manor, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of R. Alexander G. and the late Gaylan M. (Rutledge) Ritchie. Educated in Dartmouth and the British Columbia Institute of Technology, David was trained in Motorcycle Repair and Aircraft Maintenance. Before developing a very aggressive form of Multiple Sclerosis, he worked at the Halifax International Airport for many years. David loved to be sailing on the lakes in his small sailboat with his favourite companion, Sheba the dog, as figurehead pointing the way. David is survived by his father, Alex; his stepmother, Kathleen; his brothers, Robert, Jonathan (Nadine), Duncan (Robyn); nephew, Justin; niece, Jennifer and niece, Jessica. David has been cremated and visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, October 17, in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth. The family thanks the staff of Northwood Manor, his residence, for their care and friendship over the past five years.
