

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Diana was the beloved daughter of Elizabeth (Betty) Merlin (Cyrl Walsh) and David Hennigar.
Diana was known for her kind heart, caring nature, and willingness to help anyone in need. She found great joy in playing bingo, spending time with her beloved pets, and making cherished memories with her son, Percy, who was the love of her life.
Throughout her working years, Diana enjoyed meeting and helping people. She worked in retail, at Subway, Tim Hortons, and most recently at the Bread Store in Halifax, where she was known for her friendly smile and warm personality.
Diana leaves to mourn her loving son, Percy; her sisters, Wanda Simmons and Suzzann Hennigar; along with extended family and many friends who will miss her dearly.
She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Merlin and step father (Cyrl Walsh); her father, David Hennigar; and her brother, Johnny Hennigar.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Portland Street, Dartmouth, on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
Diana’s kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit touched many lives. She will be remembered with love and forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
