

Herman, Edythe Leola, 91 of Dartmouth, NS, passed away July 12, 2011 at the Halifax Infirmary QEII with her loving daughter Frances Ella by her side. Born in Caribou Mines, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Frances (Lawler) Kindervater. Edythe was an adoring and loving Wife, Mother, Nana and Great-Grandmother. She was a member of Stairs Memorial United Church of Canada. Edythe’s true passion was providing a loving home and cooking for her family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, music, singing and puzzles. Edythe is survived by her devoted daughter, Frances Ella Herman of Florida; Daughter-in-law, Delia Rushton Herman of Lantz, NS. Edythe was “Nana” to her two granddaughters, Stacey Lynn Chopskie of California, and Lauren Brantley Deady of Tampa Florida. Edythe was the great-grandmother “G.G.” to Carter, Hunter, Stella, Brantley, and Decker. She is predeceased by her son Frederick Thomas, infant son Lloyd Warren and husband and best friend of 69 years, Lloyd George. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 1-4pm and the Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Monday, July 18, 2011, both in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street Dartmouth. Rev. Glenn MacLean officiating. A private family burial will take place in Mount Hermon Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
