Age 91 of Dartmouth, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of our mother, Estella, on March 23, 2015 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Charlottetown, PEI on May 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Estella Slade. Estella was a homemaker and lived a long, healthy life and enjoyed being around her family and friends. She was a very organized person who you could ask anything and she always had the answer. She took pride in having her hair done and she had beautiful white hair that everyone loved to touch. She loved doing Word Seek puzzles and she would read the newspaper from beginning to end, not missing a thing. She enjoyed listening to music and had been to many concerts. She also had a wonderful sense of humor. We all loved you and will miss you very much but you will never be forgotten. As you always use to say to us, don’t say goodbye but say so long I will see you later. She is survived by her children, Jim Crook (Marina) of Lawrencetown, Shirley Baker (the late Jerry Baker) of Dartmouth and Debbie Perrin (Steve) of Dartmouth. She is also survived by brothers Don (Cathy), Leo (Maxine) and Walter Slade. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Crook, daughter Joan Allison and brothers, Arnold and Billy Slade. Cremation has taken place. As requested, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
