I only met Madeleine twice. I feel I known her a lot, by what my sister Shirley Ouellette had a lot of wonderful things to say about her.
Shirley is heart felt sorry, and she will miss her so much.

I was so very sorry to hear of Aunt Madeleines passing (so soon after your sister Linda).
Although I didn’t get down to see her often I was happy I made it for the last family reunion. As usual no matter the distance or time she opened her home and her heart to us as if it was yesterday.
What I do remember is that although up in years she was still as strong and feisty as ever.
I remember all the visits aunt Madeleine and uncle Bob made to Kingston to visit mom and dad. It was always an exciting time for us.
The four of them seemed to get along like peas in a pod and they all loved their time together .. they always had to get a few card games in when visiting.
Your mom was a very strong and independent woman who would do anything for family.
I know how much she must have meant to you all and how you will all miss her.
She is at rest with her loved ones beyond ,likely having another game of cards.

She will be missed
Your cousin Donna

To the Smart Family ,
Please accept my condolences on the passing of your Mom . I remember her well from my time spent in the area and when we both work for the grocery store in the Shannon Park Plaza. she was my mentor when I first started to work there. Anyone who knew her or worked with here at that time knew what a great lady she was. Also having been at your home a number of times she always welcome me with a pleasant smile and a warm greeting , I will always remember her as a gregarious lady .

Nanny Smart always invited me lovingly into her home and treated me as one of her own family members. When my son came along in 2011, Nanny Smart welcomed him with loving arms. She even knitted him one of her famous Smurfs which he adored. Love you always
