Geoffrey Mark Taylor

19 June, 197527 April, 2021

TAYLOR, Geoffrey Mark - of Fall River, June 19, 1975 - April 27, 2021.

Geoff will always be remembered for his courage during difficult times. Unfortunately, this time the pain was too much and Geoff died on Tuesday, April 27th.

Geoff will be forever loved and missed by his two children, Sage and Samantha; his mother, Jill; his sister, Tina (Brad); his niece and nephew, Taylor and Dawson; the mother of his children, Jennifer and many other extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Bill.

Born in Nova Scotia, Geoff was a true maritimer at heart. His happy place was at our cottage in Fox Island with his daughters. He had a big personality and usually made a big impression on those he met throughout his life. Best known to his Acadia friends as ‘Frank’, Geoff was always up for a fun time.

Geoff left Nova Scotia in 1997 to start a new life in Niagara Falls where he owned and operated the Wild Mushroom. Customers from far and near would return again and again to the Mushroom due to Geoff’s welcoming and down to earth personality. But his roots were calling him so he moved his family back to Nova Scotia in June of 2010, was able to spend some quality time with his father and best friend before he died late in 2010 and owned and operated Dartmouth Surplus until 2017.

Geoff struggled over the years with mental health but he always was able to find a way to fight back when he needed to. We are so sad that this time he was not able to pull through but we can say that he lived life to the fullest while he was with us.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date when we are able to gather and remember Geoff in a way he deserves. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kids Help Phone or the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated. To view the full obituary or leave condolences, please visit

I'm a local artist in Niagara falls and Geoff seemed to have a project for me, whether it's was Painting the windows for the bar, or faux finishing inside.... My last memory was when he partnered up with me on my line of Tshirts for the Toronto Beer Fest... We got rained out, shortly after that he moved back home.... I haven't heard from him since. I like the family to know that my heart is shattered... Our deepest condolences,, God bless you Geoff.

I spent a lot of happier times with Geoff when we met 11 years ago. . As a neighbour and friend we shared a laugh and a few refreshments in the garage. We also had a chance to bond over 4 wheeling together in the woods, with us both on older machines we would inevitably getting stuck or break down. All part of the adventure.

I will always remember a long weekend trip Geoff hosted at his family cottage with another neighbour. The whole 3 days were the epitome of a “guys trip” with lots of steak, lobster, riding, cards and laughs. That’s the GT I choose to remember.

To the Taylor family, its hard to share a memory of Geoff in just 2000 letters as there are many. I read the condolences and they are memories of Geoff's days in Ontario, I want to remember Geoff as a 12 yr old bright eyed smiling kid I met in 1987, a boy that had so much talent on figure skates (i'm sure not many knew) and later hockey skates, a boy that had so much promise with a pool cue ... these are the memories I hold dear now when I think of Geoff (plus many more) Rest Easy my dear friend as we mourn your loss and celebrate the amazing person you were. My condolences to all of Geoff's family

We are so sorry and saddened to hear of Geoff's passing. The Wild Mushroom was around the corner from our place when we were young and starting off and Geoff was always so welcoming. He was part of many memorable nights of fun and laughter amongst friends. We lost touch when he moved home but always fondly recall his kindness and smile. On occasion we drive by the old the place and always make a point of swinging by the "mushroom" to relive those days. We thank Geoff for the memories and kindness that he gifted us and pray that he's found his peace. Sending our thoughts and prayers xoxo
