Grace Evelyn "Lyn" Hudson

HUDSON, Grace Evelyn “Lyn” – 70, Lake Charlotte passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, December 19, 2013, in The Birches, Musquodoboit Harbour, NS. Born in Halifax, December 1, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Reg and Evelyn (Ivany) Edwards. She grew up in Dartmouth among many family and friends that meant the world to her, she was always there to lend a helping hand. After raising her own family she opened her home for many years to the community by becoming active in foster care. In later years she worked in various Metro group homes, also opening her home to troubled teens in need. She is survived by her loving devoted husband of 50 years, Harold; two sons, Timothy, Dartmouth; Gregory (Sherry), Eastern Passage; daughter, Melissa (Jim) Mallard, Dartmouth; sisters, Doris Ritchie, NB; Marion Hall, Nancy (Peter) Nicholson both of Dartmouth; brothers, Richard, Gregory and David, all of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Sarah (Chad), Alicia, Meaghan, Andrew, Temyson and Teaghan; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jack, Uncles Jack (Marg) and Vic (Juanita), many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Reginald. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Sunday December 22, memorial service 11 a.m. Monday, December 23, both in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Portland Street, Dartmouth. Burial in Mount Hermon Cemetery. Family flowers only donations may be made to a charity of choice.
