Grace Isabelle Young

It is with broken hearts that the family of Grace “Isabelle” Young announce her passing in their loving arms at the age of 95 on the morning of November 18, 2025, at the QEII- V.G. Site in Halifax, NS.

She was born on March 18, 1930, in Earltown, Colchester Co., NS and was the daughter of the late Alex and Bessie Sutherland.

She is survived by daughters- Cynthia (Peter) Autran, Daphne (Jim)Lind, Gail (Wayne) Clark, Son- Allan (Marion) Young, and sister- Thelma (Bill) Cross, and her aunt- Annie Leslie. Her cherished grandchildren who called her Nanny- Danielle, Joe, Steven, Jordan, Dawn, Katie, Tim, James, Cyntha, their families (including 15 great- grandchildren), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews

She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years- Harry (1998) along with sisters- Marion Marshall, Sadie Hurst, brothers- Donald Sutherland, and Gordon Sutherland.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00am at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 216 School Street, Dartmouth, NS. There will be light refreshments after the service in the church hall. Burial to follow at the Earltown Cemetery at 2:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, donations may be made to the St. Andrews Ladies Guild or a charity of your choice.

The care and compassion received from the Dartmouth General Hospital and V.G. Hospital was greatly appreciated.

Her legacy will be her kindness and her motto in life was to do something nice for someone else every day!
