She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur, her daughter Mary and fur baby, Maisy May. Also left to mourn is sister-in-law Irene, brother-in-law Ken and nieces and nephews from coast to coast. She was predeceased by six sisters, and five brothers.
Mom grew up in a large family surrounded by faith and love. Her nickname growing up was Honey. She would often recall seeing her parents polka dance in the kitchen and describe her mother “as light as a feather” on her feet. Or reminiscence about sledding down “Harris Hill.”
She met her husband by asking him to a dance, and they never looked back. In 2025, they celebrated 62 years together. Mom and Dad were the only two from both sides of the family to achieve such a milestone.
Mom worked at Eatons as an elevator operator, as a switchboard operator and in shipping. She left her career when she became a mother. She loved to play bingo and puzzle games. In her later years, she loved watching the judge shows on TV. She had a profound sense of humor, and her laughter was contagious.
She was a good and loving mother to me; she was my best friend. She was a loving and faithful wife to my father. She was a good woman and her loss to my father, and I is immeasurable. Her strength to live was undeniable until her journey ended. Suffer no more as you are now in the arms of your mother, who you so missed.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held later.
Thank you to Taryn, Lori, Jeannie and Debbie from A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home for their compassion and support to my father and I during our time of grief.
