

He was raised and lived in Dartmouth all his life. He was a welder by trade and worked at Halifax Metal Workers and Halifax Shipyards until retirement at 65. He loved to hunt, fish, and travel. Whether it was a cruise, to a resort, or a shopping trip to the U.S, he couldn't wait to get going. He also enjoyed our many family gatherings.
James is survived by his wife Audrey; daughters, Andrea (Markus), and Annette (Ian); grandsons, Jordan, Edwin, Logan, Connor, and Dylan; sister, Julia (Frank deceased) Pulsifer; brothers, Kenneth (Sylvia deceased) Trider, Patrick (Barbara) Trider; Brother in law, Clifford (Linda) Coveyduc, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
James was a wonderful, loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.
A visitation will be held at A.L Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 1-3pm. An interment will follow at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens for family only.
The family would like to thank his Oncologist, Dr. Thana, and all the staff at the cancer clinic who took great care of him for 5 1/2 years. Also, thank you to the staff of Dartmouth General on the 3rd and 5th floors for their compassionate care in his last days.
