Jennette Bertha Collings

Collings, Jennette Bertha age 86 of East Preston passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. Born in East Preston she was the daughter of the late Cora Crawley and Lawrence Saunders.

Jennette attended the East Preston Baptist Church where she was a member of the East Preston Mass Choir and the Women’s Missionary Tea and Chat Group. She had received several plaques for her time and service given to each group. At the time of her death, Jennette was a member of Shiloh Community Church.

She is survived by her son, George Collings of BC and her daughter, Faye Collings of Dartmouth; brother, Joseph (Margaret) Slawter of BC; sisters, Laurina Simmons (Ronald) and Iva Frizzell (Frank); her 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Jennette was predeceased by her husband, Bernard; granddaughter, Jenene; sisters, Geraldine, Shirley, Maxine, Nora and brothers, George, Leonard, Bernard, Levy, Charles Sr, Henry and John Edward.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian cancer Society.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 25 from 1 – 2 pm followed immediately by funeral service at A.L. Mattatall Funeral home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, NS with the Rev.Ogueri Ohanaka officiating. Burial will follow the service at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
