Jennifer Cleary

Age 76, of Lower Sackville, passed away with family at her side on March 29, 2018 at Shannex Maplestone Enhanced Care in Halifax. Born in Dartmouth, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Lily (Charles) Chase. She is survived by her loving husband James of 56 years; son, Gerald (Lanie) Cleary; daughters, Carla Campbell (Donnie Lunn), Cheryl Cleary; grandchildren, Crystal Campbell (Jared Boutilier), Kyle Campbell, Rebecca Cleary-Gordon (Kyle Fenner), Ryan Cleary-Gordon, Chelsie Cleary, Caitlyn Cleary, Alex Lunn; great grandchild, Silas Boutilier. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Lena Woods, Joyce Laybolt, Shirley (Ted) Barkhouse; brothers-in-law, Ernest (Jean) Cleary, Doug Milmine; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jennifer is predeceased by sisters-in-law, Mae Atwood, Glenda Milmine; brothers-in-law, Wendall Atwood, Oliver Woods and Fred Laybolt. Growing up, Jennifer loved to study and play the violin, square dance, swim and skate. She lived in many different places across Canada and in Germany with James, raising their children. Time was spent camping and touring while creating a lot of good friendships along the way. She also enjoyed spending time at the cottage on the lake and took great pleasure playing with her grandchildren and watching them grow up. Visitation will take place Thursday, April 5, 6-8pm, with a funeral service April 6, 11am, both in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. Private interment at a later time.
