

Macpherson, John S. – 92 of Dartmouth, died October 12, 2012 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland he was the son of the late Angus and Annie (Adams) Macpherson. John was a flying officer in the Medical Corp of the RAF before starting his 38 year career as a research chemist in the textile industry in Dundee, Scotland. Following his retirement in 1985, he immigrated to Nova Scotia, with his wife, Margaret. He was well known as a water colourist of Nova Scotia scenery. Sunday School Superintendent, church of Scotland, Muirhead, Scotland. Surviving by his loving wife of 68 years, Margaret (Barrie) of Dartmouth; sister Annie (Babs) Currie of Hopewell, NS; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Ruth Ferguson and Winnie George; brothers Angus Macpherson and Harold Macpherson. A celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Thursday October 18, 2012 in Iona Presbyterian Church, 90 Lucien Drive, Dartmouth, NS B2W 4B7 Rev. Dr. Cynthia Chenard officiating. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Iona Presbyterian Church.
