Joyce May Harvey

It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Joyce who passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015 in the Berkeley Halifax. Loving wife of the late SQN/L Robert George Harvey DFC, a veteran of the Second World War. Survived by children Don (Diane), of Lower Sackville, Gordon (Bonnie), of Conquerall Bank, Debbie (Peter), of Dartmouth and Fred (Lisa), of Canberra, Australia; grandchildren Carol, Derek, Kelly, Jodi, Lora, Peter and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Natayo, Sieanna, Carter, Julia, Isaak and Zoey; brother Dale of Toronto. Joyce is pre-deceased by sisters Marge and Phyllis and brother Doug. Prior to her marriage, Joyce graduated from St. Croix Commercial College and worked at the Haley Lumber Company, where she met her husband. Joyce was a stay at home mother and raised four children. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her family was everything to her. She loved travelling with her family, singing, dancing, old time country music, Christmas songs, shopping, flowers, reading and the Toronto Blue Jays. Family would like to thank the staff at the Halifax Berkeley and a special thank you to mom’s special friend Connie Doucette. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11am in Woodlawn United Church, Rev. Phillip Kennedy officiating. Burial to take place in Horton Cemetery, Grand Pré.
