

Kent, Loretta Anne - of Dartmouth, NS, passed away May 6th, 2015 surrounded by family and friends, following a brief illness. Born in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Loretta led an active and spiritual life with her husband of 48 years, Ronald Kent. She found joy and fulfillment in faith, family, music, and a tireless commitment to helping others.
She will be forever missed and cherished by husband, Ron, sons Brian (Jennifer), Moncton; and Paul (Cathie), Calgary; and grandchildren Brennan, Connor, Eli and Grayson. Loretta is also survived by loving sisters, Cora (Bill) Lawrence, Falmouth; Margaret (Dave) Seeley, Windsor; Barbara (Mike) Wyman, Windsor; brother Lloyd (Bev) Hines, Moncton, NB, and was the beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Loretta was predeceased by her brother, Richard and her sister, Goldie.
Loretta was an active member of her Church and a friendly, familiar face at many parish functions. Loretta enjoyed an active outdoor lifestyle with Ron, walking and biking the beautiful paths, parks and shorelines of Dartmouth and surrounding communities. Loretta belonged to the Dartmouth Volksmarch Walking Club, was a long-time member of St. Georges Lawn Tennis Club and a former president of the Dartmouth Christian Women’s Club. Loretta also taught piano lessons for many years, helping to set many young children on their musical journey.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home. A mass celebrating Loretta’s life will be held Tuesday May 12th, 2015 at 11:00 am in St. John XXIII with Father Irek Bem officiating. Private internment will take place at Mount Hermon Cemetery.
