It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret "Peggy" Emma King of Dartmouth, N.S. who passed away peacefully at the Dartmouth General Hospital on January 31, 2019.

Born in Mitton, Kent County, England on April 30, 1923, Margaret and family soon returned to Nova Scotia where she grew up in South end Halifax.

Margaret is survived by daughter-in-law Donna-Lynne, Fletchers Lake; Son Randall (Roberta), Waverley; Grandchildren: Franklyn (Nadine), Halifax; Phillip (Lisa Levy), Bedford; Victor (Kelly), Dartmouth; Tanya (Eddie Briffett), Halifax and Amanda (Nick MacIntosh), Dartmouth; Great-Grandchildren Angus, Benjamin, Emma, Megan and Kenzie.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Dr. William Keith Wickwire and Annie Louise Wickwire (Whitehead); beloved husband Victor George King; son Gregory Phillip Wickwire, and her brothers William Alexander Keith Wickwire and Robert Donald Thomas Wickwire.

Margaret was a life long member and volunteer at Christ Church and a volunteer at the Grace Maternity Hospital and IWK Children’s Hospital for 20 years. She was a member of the IODE, Saint George’s Society, British North American Society and Royal Commonwealth Society. She and Vic were also members of the Clan Keith Society and Brightwood Golf Club. The family has many memories of them entertaining and teaching/playing bridge.

Although born in England and raised in Halifax, Peggy was a Dartmouthian at heart. She and Vic shared a love of dogs and they had many 4 footed friends over the years. They mentored university students from abroad, providing a family atmosphere. Peggy took care of her family and enjoyed many cups of tea and toast with them.

Peggy passed away on what would have been her husband Victor’s 100 birthday.

Special thanks to personal care workers Denis and Nancy MacKeigan and special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Dartmouth General Hospital.

Hello Randy and family.
Susan and I were sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I always got a chuckle out of Dad and your Mom sending that same Birthday card back and forth to each other for all those years. She was a great lady.

Dear Randy and King family. During these difficult days may you be comforted by the support of family and friends and by your many precious memories of a life well lived. Mrs King ( as she was always known to me) lived life with strength , independence and determination, all exhibited in the" proper way". I will miss keeping an eye on # 26 and having Mrs King as my touch stone to Dad. My thoughts are with you all. Sincere condolences, Marilee
