Margaret Evelyn Carter MacDonald

MacDonald, Margaret Evelyn, 80, of Dartmouth passed away March 29, 2012 at Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Dartmouth she was the daughter of the late Sinclair and Vera (Dickson) Carter. Margaret was employed with DREA and BIO before her retirement in 1981. She loved gardening and had a profound interest in genealogy and extensively researched and documented the history of the Dickson, Carter and MacDonald families. Survived by her husband, of 62 years, Eric, daughter Pam (Larry) Giffin of Dartmouth and her “sunshine”, granddaughter Sarah (Jason) of Dartmouth, sister Dr. Betty Carter ,Vancouver. Predeceased by brothers; Jack, Frank and Howard (in infancy) and sisters; Dot, Jean and Cathy. Visitation will be held from 10:30am – 11:00am Monday April 2, 2012 at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home 217 Portland St. Memorial Service will be held at 11am Monday April 2, 2012 in the Chapel at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home 217 Portland St. Dartmouth with reception to follow.
