It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Nancy Goulding on January 18, 2025. She died peacefully at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Nancy was born on February 13, 1941 in Truro, NS to the late John and Marie (Bayers) Lewis of Chezzetcook, NS.
Mom was an avid bowler for most of her life and loved to go dancing with dad whenever the opportunity arose. She also was an excellent seamstress and crafter, running a craft shop for several years with the help of her sister, Evelyn. Mom had many friends and loved to socialize. She was a proud Red Hatter and had many fun trips and outings with this group. She loved to bake and invite her family and friends over for dessert parties. Mom was always there to help a friend in need.
She and dad lived in several Canadian provinces as dad was transferred throughout his career. She made several more friends and never forgot to send a Christmas card to anyone who crossed her path. This was evident by the 20 or so address books she kept.
Nancy is survived by her three children, Debbie (John), Larry (Marion) and Chris as well as her five grandchildren, Ryan, Hayley, Tracy, Sara and Marlee. She was predeceased by her husband, David and her grandson, Gregory.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of unit 5E at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
A private family graveside burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Nova Scotia.
