GALBRAITH, Marion Theresa “Carol” – Of Halifax/Dartmouth. It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Nanny, Marion “Carol” Galbraith at the age of 77 on April 19th, 2021 at the Victoria General Hospital after a brave battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family, who held her hands until she could be reunited with the love of her life, husband Bob. Born in Hove, Sussex, England she was the daughter of Wilfred (Bill) Braine and Bridget (Leonard). She is survived by daughters Lisa (Doug) Cochrane and Paula (Dan) as well as her beloved sisters Annette Piccott, Dartmouth and Marie Richardson, London, England and the light of her life, her grandchildren, Kathryn, Stuart (Megan), Madison and Siobhan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews here and in England. Mum was especially close to niece Heather (Johnson) and husband Phil and we will be forever grateful for their love and support over the last few years. Ann’s children Arthur, Jeffrey, Kimberly, and Tracy also held a special place in her heart. Our family would like to offer our deepest thanks for the care Mum received from the staff of 5B VG and in particular from Drs. McSwaine and Goth. Due to COVID-19 we have made the difficult decision to host a celebration of her life at a later date. Donations may be made in memory to Hope for Wildlife or to the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre. My Aunt Carol was always there as long as I can remember. So many wonderful memories with her and Bob growing up. She was my family and a friend to everyone. A special person and I will miss her so very much. She will always be in my heart.

My deepest and sincere condolences to the immediate family. I know how difficult this time must be for you and there really are no words for that. Love and be kind to each other.

Love,
Artie

Please accept our condolences regarding the passing of Carol. We got to know Carol, and her husband Bob, when we moved into their bldg. in 1997. Carol will be remembered for always being friendly and kind to my husband and I, and acting as caregiver for our pets whenever we were away from our apt. We knew they were in good hands, as we saw how much loved her own pets were. She will be missed.

There are not enough words to describe what Aunt Carol has meant to us over the years. She will be truly missed.
I was crying the other day and my 14 year old son looked at me with all the seriousness in the world and said “Mom don’t be sad”
Aunt Carol is still here with us. She is in our hearts and memories. Her light still shines, and always will. “
It’s really hard to extinguish a light that shines that bright. “ You didn’t know that Mom?”
We will always remember you Aunt Carol!

Dear Family:

Carol was a wonderful lady with a warm and generous heart. I had many great conversations with her over the years while I was visiting my Mom at 7 Jamieson St. We kept in touch even when she moved to Northwood. She fought a good fight and I will remember her and Bob fondly.

May your memories give you comfort.

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

With our condolences,

Elizabeth Crook and Marc Hemphill
