Marjory Gertrude Coombs-Rafuse

74, of West Porters Lake, born in Piccarie, NL on September 27, 1945 she was a daughter of the late Billy and Bessie Coombs, the family moved to NS in 1949. She suffered a sudden illness and passed peacefully with family and friends by her side at the Dartmouth Gen hospital March 17. She is preceded by her brother Ronald, sisters Maude Collins and Monnie Hayden. Many will remember her amazingly buoyant personality and indomitable spirit, always helping others in any way she could. Although she couldn’t tell one to save her life, she was always quick to share a joke and a laugh. An entrepreneur she operated Personal Touch Designs for many years. As a master seamstress and florist, she benefitted many with her talent, for creating beautiful gowns, dresses and floral arrangements. After raising two sons she enjoyed the adventure of travelling extensively in North America and Australia. Eventually settling down with Ron, the two continued the adventure renovating their home and building a life together. She loved good music, dancing, and was lucky to find her perfect duet partner in her husband and best friend Ron. Taking care of her family and bringing some joy to others was the focus of her life. Dearly loved and sorely missed she is survived by her loving Husband Ron Rafuse; sister, Mary Northcotte; brother, Junior Coombs; sons, Rick and Jim Naugle; grandchildren, Shayla, Lyle and Wyatt Naugle; daughter- in- law, Kimberley Naugle. A great many nieces and nephews and dearest friends, Mabena and Owen Combden. Marjorie was well loved in the community and a celebration of her life will be held at a future date after the current emergency passes. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations be made in her name to the heart and stroke foundation. Remembering the many good times with Marjory and Ronnie in Porters Lake and here in Newfoundland. A most pleasant and joyful person to be around. It was a pleasure to observe their personal contentment and happiness that they found in each other in their senior years. Our warm thoughts and condolences are with all the family at this time of loss. Corrie and Les Morash

First i would like to give my condolences to Marjory's Family, and very heartfelt sympathies to Ron.
I was so happy that Ron had met Marjory, they were a match made in heaven.
When they got married, I was very honored that Marjory asked me to make the wedding cake.
She had a smile that would light up a room, and a heart big enough to fill up the house.
I remember when we use to play crib at Reilley's Lounge, and Ron and I would drop a card, and make sure Marjory would see us, so she could tell us to behave ourselves( we us to make believe we were kissing) it was a standing joke.
I will miss you greatly, along with a lot of other people.
Love you Marjory, till we meet again R.I.P my dear dear friend.

Marjory was one of the best people I have ever met.
She was full of life, love, and laughter.
We shared so may great times, often laughing until we cried.
It was due to Marjory that we came to adopt Miss Amelia.
Everyone who knew her is a better person for having had her friendship.
My heart breaks for Ron, and for Marjory's children and other family members.
Grief is the price we pay for love - Marjory was loved so much by so many, so there are a great many people grieving for her now, and treasuring our memories.
The picture below was taken at my 60th. birthday party, 8 years ago - Marjory and I enjoyed many jives together, always laughing as we danced.
I'm sure she's singing and dancing in heaven.

My sincere condolences to Ron and Marjory’s family for their loss. I am so saddened to read of the passing of Marjory. She was a wonderful person to be around. She was always smiling and kind to everyone. Her bright light shone brightly making her appear much younger then she actually was and I was so happy for her when she met Ron and together they started a brand new life. RIP Marjory., you will be missed.
