It is with deep sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of Michael (Mike) Wran Keith who slipped away peacefully and in the arms of his loving family on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born on April 24, 1942, in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Michael grew up in Bathurst, New Brunswick.
Mike was a 27-year veteran in the Canadian Armed Forces. He served as a weapons technician and served on several ships including the HMCS Cornwallis, Victoriaville, Columbia, Outremont, Fraser, Margaree, Huron, Iroquois and lastly the Athabascan. Mike spent his entire military career in Halifax, where he met the love of his life Marie Eileen (Lynn) in 1965 at a wedding and they were later married in August 1966.
Above all else, family was his greatest joy. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Marie Keith, his children Michelle McKenna, Denise Greenlaw (Steve), Sean Keith (Leanna), Chris Keith (Michelle) and Matthew Keith (Crystal). Michael had many grandchildren—Evan, Kristen, Zakk, Makayla, Bella, Rayne, Quentin, Cameron, Connor, Emma, Caleb, Cody, and great-granddaughter Bryor—and extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
He was predeceased by his parents Walter Keith and Edith Wran, and sister Dorothy Isabelle Keith.
Those who knew Mike will remember his many stories from his early military days, the many countries he travelled to and his unwavering support of his family. Mike loved sports; he was a longtime fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. He was also a lifetime fan of country music.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are grateful for the many years, memories, laughter, and love we shared with him. He will be deeply missed forever.
A visitation and reception will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

"Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed, and forever dear."
