Mona Lavina Thompson

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Mona Lavina Thompson 64, born on December 28, 1950 in North Preston. Mona was the daughter of the late Garfield and Gertrude (Willis) Beals.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was loved and well respected by those who knew her. Mona was an employee of the VGH before starting a long-time career at Moirs (Hershey Canada). Her greatest passion in life was her children and husband.

Mona is survived by her loving husband of 44 years John H Thompson, sons Blaine (Kimberley) Dartmouth, John Jr., North Preston, Narlen (Machelle), Marko (Carmaine), daughters Shaunda and Therese all of Dartmouth; 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 4 Godchildren Otis Williams, Tyrone Glasgow, Draper Beals, and Isla David. Mona is survived by her sisters Gwendolyn Beals, Shenner (Merlin) Thompson, Julia (Ronald) David, Margaret (Everton) Cummings (Toronto), Gerta Beals, Cheryl (Rex) Francis, Sharmay (Glen) Wenzell, Alisa Beals, Serena (Richard) Reddick (Toronto), Loriene Downey; brothers Sydney (Natherine) Willis, Garfield Jr. Beals, Gerald (Carol) Beals, Leonard (Beaulah) Beals, Miles (Pam) Beals, Murphy (Janice) Beals, Ranosker (Lillian) Beals, Farrell Beals, Kirby Beals, Jonathan Beals, and Dominic Beals. Mona was predeceased by sister Evangeline and brother Vaughan.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Thomas Baptist church at 35 Simmonds Rd in North Preston on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 1 pm. Officiating Rev. Wallace Smith, along with assisting Rev. Linda M L Smith.
