Patricia Delores Mitchell

Patricia was born to James and Sarah Simms in the lovely Clarence Town, Long Island of The Bahamas. She was the sixth and last child of the family. Her mother passed away when she was six months old where she lived with hear Aunt until she was 16 years. She became a Math and English teacher at a very young age before she moved to Nassau. After moving Pat met her ex-husband Vincent Mitchell and they raised 5 kids together.

Pat, Patsy, or Grammy Missy as they called her lived a wonderful and filled life she worked at The Department of Statistics for 29 years deciding to retire early to care for her grandchildren. She spent most of her days after retirement volunteering her time at the soup kitchen and baking bread for friends and neighbours. She was an active member of Maranatha S.D.A church where she served a term as the Woman’s Ministries leader and at one point was a Sabbath school teacher. She enjoyed many activities but her greatest joy was to be able to interact and encourage anyone she came in contact with.

Pat is survived by her children and their spouses: Terrance Sr. (Marichel), Wayne (Tia), Katrena, Lesma (Andrew), Winston. Grandchildren Terrance Davis Jr., Wayne Mitchell Jr. Marikel Davis, Alexis Ashley Sam (Gyasi), Dominque Mitchell, Andrew Rolle Jr Trevan Davis, Renee Mitchell. Greatgrandchildren: Tahj and Tai Davis, Tmir and Tmori Collie, Takara Davis, Annie Mitchell Sister-in-Law, Rev. Thelcene Simms, Brother-in-law, Robert Lightfoot. Nieces: Joyanne Pinder, Janet Arnette (Florida), Judy Forbes, Marina Lightfoot-Laing, Lavern Lightfoot-Pople, Dr. Elouise Busby of Chattanooga Tennessee, Barbara Lightfoot-Russell, Dale Rahming, Karen Rahming (Grand Bahama), Kayla Allen (Florida), Patricia Simms-Ferguson (Florida), Theresa Adderley-Smith, Margaret Nwankwo, Joan Armbrister (Grand Bahama) Nephew: Richard, Nicholas and Cranston Simms, Gregory Butterfield, Michael and David Rahming, Charles Walkine, Rodney Minnis.Numerous relatives and friends including: Maranatha SDA Church Family, Pastor, Elders, Officers and members of Good News SDA Church, Past and Present staff of Department of Statistics.
