Power, Randall David - With the deepest of sorrow and broken hearts we wish to share with our friends and family the sad news of the death of Randy Power on January 1, 2011 peacefully at his home in Dartmouth. Randy lost a fiercely fought battle against his opponent Melanoma with grace and dignity. Randy was employed with the Federal Government for 33 years and was fortunate to have so many great and lasting friendships with his colleagues. He was an avid sports enthusiast and a loyal fan of the Montreal Canadiens, a meticulous gardener, enjoyed annual trips "South" with close friends Mary and Colin Conrod and Friday night snooker games with "the boys". Randy was deeply devoted to his family and friends, was passionate about life and a true gentleman. Randy is survived by his loving wife and best friend Lisa (Gouin): his pride and joy, daughter Breanne Michele, deeply loved parents, Lloyd and Dorothy Power, his brothers, The Rev. Canon Robert and Christopher. Loving in-laws, Murray and Margaret Gouin, sisters in law, Denise Gouin, Suzanne Macdonald, Theresa Power, Leeann Power, and brothers in law, David Gouin and Bob Macdonald; nieces Anne, Brena, Sara, Krista, Kaila, Blaire and nephew Cooper. Randy was predeceased by his nephew Andrew Power and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Randy will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 5 from 5-9 p.m. at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth. A celebration of Randy's life is scheduled for Thursday, January 6 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Veterans Ave., Dartmouth. Reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Memorial donations can be made to the IWK Health Center. "Missing you terribly, Love you forever and always"
