Born in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, Robert was a proud resident of Mosher River for many years. He was a cherished member of his community who built lasting friendships and created memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Robert dedicated 45 years of his life to DASC (Dartmouth Adult Services Centre), where he was employed from 1977 until 2022. His many years at DASC were an important part of his life, and the organization remained a meaningful part of his story.
Robert was a Special Olympics athlete for many years and took great pleasure in participating in sports. He especially loved bocce and bowling, along with golf and hockey. These activities brought him happiness and gave him opportunities to share his enthusiasm with others.
Robert also enjoyed the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing and sailing with his best friend, Mike Vavra, sharing special moments and making lasting memories on the water. He also enjoyed hunting, particularly deer hunting, which added to his love of spending time outdoors. Robert treasured the quality time he spent with his cousin, Steven Hines, whose companionship was an important part of his life.
Whenever Robert made a trip home to Mosher River, his first stop was always to visit his beloved Aunt Gloria, whom he loved dearly. Visiting her was a special part of coming home and reflected the deep affection he held for his family and his roots. These visits were treasured moments that will remain a meaningful part of the memories his loved ones hold close.
Family was an important part of Robert’s life, and he made a special effort to stay connected with those he loved. He looked forward to his weekly phone conversations with his sister, Marjorie Bell, his sister-in-law, Stephanie Lowe, and other family members. Those regular calls gave him the opportunity to catch up, share stories, and maintain the close family connections he valued so dearly. His family will fondly remember those conversations and the familiar voice they were always happy to hear.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, (Arth) Stanley Lowe and Ida Elizabeth Lowe, as well as his siblings Fredrick Adam, Edith Ann, and Joel Arthur.
He is survived by his siblings, Marjorie Bell and Stanley Paul, and his sister-in-law, Stephanie Lowe, along with his extended family and loved ones.

Robert will be remembered for his many years of dedication to DASC, his involvement in Special Olympics, his love of sports, fishing, sailing, and hunting, and the meaningful friendships and family relationships he maintained throughout his life.
Above all, Robert will be remembered for the connections he cherished and the time he shared with the people who mattered most to him. From his weekly phone calls with family to his visits with Aunt Gloria whenever he returned home to Mosher River, these simple but meaningful moments reflected the love he held for those closest to him.
Though his passing leaves a deep sadness for those who loved him, the memories Robert created and the relationships he nurtured will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Regional Residential Services Society (RRSS), where Robert lived for many years and received support from so many caring and dedicated individuals who were an important part of his life.
