Dear Gloria Dave and Barter family, it was devastating  to find that Ruby passed away, although I have not been in touch for many years. Ruby nursed me at Hammersmith hospital when she was a student nurse. Even as a student nurse she had a natural healing power. She saw me through a hard and painful recovery period. Even after my discharge she kept in touch to enhance my recovery. She will be very much missed. Dave Sandhar

My condolences to the family of Ruby. I worked with Ruby at Colchester Hospital for a number of years and she was a good friend and supporter, very professional and good natured. She could be very funny, as well, particularly when relating Newfoundland stories. She will be missed.

This was sad news to hear, of Ruby's passing.  So lucky was she to have had her sister with her every step of the way to ensure her passing with compassion and dignity.  A true friend and one of the best cooks I have known.  May she be at peace and reunited with George and her loved ones.  Will be sadly missed, my tuesday afternoons will never be the same. We were saddened to learn of the death of Ruby. We want to extend deepest sympathies to you and all the family on her passing..  We appreciated her kindnesses over the years and realize that the last while was difficult for her and family. Kindest personal regards, Linda and Jim Smith.

Many memories come flooding back of all the years I knew Ruby.  She was a caregiver and a very compassionate person.  She served up many delicious meals and even had my sister from New York come to visit with she and George.  She was always on a tear here and there but really grieved for her sister, Elsie, but especially for her George.  May she rest in peace and may all her family be comforted.

Ruby was a very proud aunt to all her nieces and nephews.i had the pleasure of having many meals prepare at her house both with her and George and many good friends of there's. Ruby was great at getting friends together for lunch and we even travel to pei for lunch and to see one of her friends.
