
Ramey, Ruth Elizabeth in her 87 th year passed away peacefully on June 1, 2012 at the Halifax Infirmary with Jennifer and Kim by her side. Born in Hantsport, NS, she was the daughter of the Late Lewis and Helen (Clarke) Coldwell. She completed a business course and worked at the Minas Basin Pulp and Paper Co. Supporting her husbands ‘career they lived in Winnipeg, Man, Sydney NS., St. John’s NL and Dartmouth. She was an avid bridge, scrabble, and crib player. Many hours were spent reading, knitting, and needlepoint, tatting and crocheting. She was a member of Emanuel Church for 40 years, and St. Andrew’s Anglican Church for 5 years. In addition, she was a member of the Fairfield IODE Dartmouth for 50 years, Head start 10 years, and Stairs Memorial Food Bank 10 years. Over the years she made many long lasting friendships through her numerous bridge clubs, church, charity work especially on Laurier Street Last August she left her home of 49 years and moved into a retirement home. She enjoyed herself immensely. Ruth is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Bryce) Weylie, granddaughters Rachelle Cawley, Angela Russell, great-granddaughters Chole and Jada. She was predeceased by her husband Earle and son Peter. No visitation by request. A Memorial service will be held 11am Wednesday June 6, 2012 at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 8 Locks Rd. Dartmouth. Rev. Trevor Lightfoot officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ruth may be made to Stairs Memorial Food Bank, or St. Andrews Church, Locks Rd.
